Restorative Dentistry Services

What is restorative dentistry?

RESTORING FORM AND FUNCTION TO KEEP YOU SMILING

If you have decayed, damaged, or missing teeth, restorative dentistry treatments can help you to restore function and keep you smiling. At Hite Family Dentistry, our team can use a range of techniques to ensure your teeth, gums, and overall oral health is improved and maintained. From crowns and bridges to implants and full mouth reconstructions, our team can handle even the most complex restorative cases.

Failure to fix a damaged or missing tooth can have drastic consequences. You may experience difficulty chewing and be more susceptible to decay and gum disease. Your remaining natural teeth may also suffer as a result, as they can shift into the empty space and affect your bite.

Crowns and Bridges

DURABLE SOLUTIONS FOR DAMAGED TEETH

Crowns cover teeth in their entirety to strengthen and support them. A bridge, or multiple crowns fused together, is helpful for replacing missing teeth.

At Hite Family Dentistry, we offer same day CEREC (chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics) crowns. So if you need a crown fast, don’t worry: we can design and customize your CEREC crown using computer-assisted technology as well as cement it in place in just one visit.

We use two main materials for crowns and bridges: zirconia and e.max. Both are very strong, wear-resistant, and difficult to crack. If you need help to restore your smile, your dentist will do a full evaluation and recommend the best course of treatment. This may include crowns, and bridges, as well as a range of other treatments.

Dental Implants

AN EXCELLENT ALTERNATIVE TO TRADITIONAL RESTORATIONS

Dental implants are a great solution for missing teeth. The implant process involves fitting a small piece of titanium into the jaw to act as the new tooth root. Over time, the implant fuses with the jawbone, securing it into place. Once the implant is fused, a new prosthetic tooth designed to match your remaining teeth will cover the implant to create your new smile.

The benefit of dental implants compared to traditional restorations such as bridges or dentures is that there is no special care required. Initially, after your implant procedure, you will need to eat soft foods while your jaw heals. But once it is healed, you can eat all of your favorite foods. Your replacement tooth (or teeth) will look and feel natural, and you can brush and floss around it normally without any additional flossing aids.

Implant-Supported Dentures

FORGET THE MOVEMENT & DISCOMFORT OF TRADITIONAL DENTURES.

Traditional dentures can move around in your mouth and rub on your gums. As a result, it can cause some discomfort, making it challenging to adapt your eating habits. One way to avoid this movement is to opt for implant-supported dentures instead of traditional removable dentures.

With this option, a series of implants are placed into the jaw. Once they heal, customized dentures are fitted onto the implants. They will look and feel just like natural teeth, and you can care for them with regular brushing as well as flossing underneath.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

GENTLE CARE AND GREAT RESULTS

If all of your teeth need to be restored or replaced, your dentist may recommend a full mouth reconstruction. This type of treatment plan includes a range of restorative dental techniques to restore the form and function of your teeth and mouth. This will help to improve your bite as well as your chewing and speaking abilities. A full mouth reconstruction can totally transform your smile, revitalizing your oral health along with improving overall aesthetics for your ideal smile. We’re certain you’re going to love the results.

TMD

STOP JAW PAIN IN ITS TRACKS.

Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs) are problems with the jaw and its surrounding muscles. Patients who have TMD can experience chronic pain, toothaches, and headaches. TMD can be caused by injury, teeth grinding (bruxism), arthritis, and even stress if the jaw muscles are clenched for an extended period.

The temporomandibular joints (TMJs) are the joints on either side of your face connecting the skull to the jaw. TMJ dysfunction can be painful. Locking of the jaw is common, making it difficult for you to open, close, eat, and speak normally. Some patients even experience neck and shoulder pain.

Treatment for TMD will depend on the underlying cause of your disorder. Your dentist may recommend dental treatment to fix your bite and correct the problem. For patients who grind their teeth, a customized night guard is helpful for relieving tension and protecting the teeth from cracks and wear.
