General Dentistry Services

What is general dentistry?

PREVENTIVE TREATMENT TO KEEP YOUR TEETH AND GUMS HEALTHY

Hite Family Dentistry offers a comprehensive range of general dentistry services to patients of all ages. Regular preventive visits to the dentist are encouraged so we can catch decay early and prevent major dental issues. Even the best at-home dental routines can’t get to some of those hard-to-reach places. Our dental hygienists provide professional dental cleanings, and fluoride treatments and sealants are also available to help reduce your risk of cavities in the future.

Choosing Your Dental Home

WE KNOW YOUR FAMILY IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY.

Choosing a dental home for your family is so important. Our team takes the time to get to know our patients. There’s also something nice about seeing the same dental team each visit instead of feeling like a stranger in a new practice. The continuity of care we provide is beneficial to your oral health since we are able to quickly identify any major changes to your mouth and gums by checking your records at our practice.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

FIXING DECAY WITH A NATURAL-LOOKING SOLUTION

Gone are the days of unsightly silver-colored amalgam fillings. At Hite Family Dentistry, we offer tooth-colored fillings, which blend in seamlessly with your smile. These fillings are not only aesthetically superior to the fillings of yesterday but also durable and can last up to 10 years or more with proper care. Tooth-colored fillings are made of composite resin and bonded to the teeth, protecting your natural tooth structure and preventing further decay.

Root Canals

SO YOU CAN BE PAIN-FREE AND HEALTHY

Your tooth may need a root canal if it has infected pulp or it is damaged in some way. The pulp contains all of the nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue inside the tooth. When it is infected or damaged, patients can experience a severe toothache and difficulty chewing. It’s important for your overall health to treat any infection and remove infected pulp. Your dentist will thoroughly clean the canals of your tooth and then fill and seal them. A crown is often the last step in the restorative process to strengthen the tooth and protect it from further breakage.

Same Day Crowns

A LONG-LASTING AND CONVENIENT SOLUTION TO BROKEN TEETH

If you have a severely decayed or broken tooth, you may require a crown to restore its structure and function. At Hite Family Dentistry, we offer same day crowns using CEREC (chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics). CEREC crowns are made of very strong ceramic materials and designed, customized, and created using computer-assisted technology. Traditional crowns would require two visits to the dental office, but with CEREC technology, we can create, fit, and cement your new crown in a single visit.

Tooth Extractions & Wisdom Teeth Removal

PAINFUL TEETH SOMETIMES NEED TO GO.

Preventing major dental issues and retaining your natural teeth are our main goals. But sometimes a tooth simply cannot be saved. If your tooth is severely decayed or damaged past the point of repair and is causing you pain and discomfort, our dentists may recommend an extraction. But there is no need to worry: Our caring team will ensure you’re comfortable throughout your appointment, and your dentist will be able to recommend appropriate replacement options to fill the gap so you can keep smiling. Some options include implants and implant-supported dentures depending on how many teeth will need to be replaced.

Having wisdom teeth, or third molars, removed is also a common procedure. Sometimes wisdom teeth are either completely impacted or partially impacted because they can’t erupt through the gums correctly. This can risk infection. In other cases, the wisdom teeth erupt fully into an incorrect position, causing problems with a patient’s bite. Every patient is unique, and your dentist will evaluate your wisdom teeth and suggest whether removal is necessary.

Sedation Dentistry

Your comfort is our top priority.

If you suffer from dental anxiety or have concerns about your ability to tolerate dental treatment, ask our friendly team about sedation dentistry options. Sedation dentistry involves the administration of some medication to help a patient relax. There are different levels of sedation depending on the complexity of treatment you’re undergoing. We offer both oral conscious sedation and IV sedation. We are happy to discuss with you the best option for your needs.

Periodontal Therapy

TREATMENT FOR THE GUMS TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH HEALTHY

Maintaining healthy gums is as important as looking after your teeth. Gum disease is often caused by plaque being allowed to build up on and under the gums. Gum disease is a serious infection that can not only damage the soft tissue but also lead to tooth loss. Common symptoms include red, swollen gums, tenderness, teeth sensitivity, and pain. Periodontal therapy includes a range of treatments for gum disease.
